DE HAVILLAND VAMPIRE Mk T55 SERIAL NO.277

Vampire 277 arrived in South Africa during November 1955 and was delivered to AFB Ysterplaat from 15 Air Depot on 12 November 1955.

On 15 June 1956, the aircraft was sent to 15 Air Depot for servicing and on 20 September 1956, the aircraft was allocated to AFB Waterkloof.

On 5 July 1963, the aircraft was sent to 1 Air Depot for servicing and on 12 August 1963, the aircraft was allocated to 1 Squadron. On 17 January 1968, the aircraft was returned to 15 Air Depot for storage. On 7 February 1969, the aircraft was allocated to the Rhodesian Air Force on loan and allocated the Serial Number RV3470.

Pilatus Astra Pc-7 II ATTD1

The Pilatus Astra Pc-7 II was utilised at 68 Air School for ground instruction.  The aircraft is marked ATTD1 and is one of two mock-up airframes that were supplied by the Pilatus Company as part of the package of sixty PC-7 Mk II trainers delivered to the South African Air Force in 1995.
